HAPPY CAPS LOCK DAY!

HAPPY CAPS LOCK DAY!

YES...THERE’S A CAPS LOCK DAY AND IT’S OCTOBER 22ND.

IT'S AN UNDERSTATEMENT TO SAY WE LOVE TYPOGRAPHY HERE AT PUNKY JANE, SO IT SEEMS ONLY NATURAL THAT WE CELEBRATE ANY DAY THAT INVOLVES LETTERS.

Sorry, I can’t keep this up.

The caps lock key originated as the “Shift Lock” key on a typewriter, originating in 1878. It returned again in the '70s and '80s when personal computers began to hit the market and their keyboards became more like typewriters.

This little helper might become obsolete, though, with Google removing the key from Chromebooks entirely and many people becoming annoyed with those who type in all caps.

WE STILL LIKE A GOOD USE OF CAPS LOCK NOW AND THEN, but we promise not to use it too much.

October is turning out to be quite the month for celebration! Did you know that Punky Jane is celebrating our 10th Birthday? Check out our post to see how we’re celebrating.
